Leo's assembled a strong 14 to take on a Leeds Uni team made up of players lacking game time currently but weren't quite the 15 X Dan the Man's that Mykes made out. Chesters made a welcome return to Leo's ranks in what on paper was a competitive pack for the occasion.
Unfortunately the game isn't played on paper and despite winning the toss so the snow was at their backs it was the closest thing that Leo's got to winning on this particular afternoon.
In the end the students had better enthusiasm, commitment and no little skill resulting in regular tries throughout some defying the under foot and blizzard conditions coming from the sky. The one time the forwards had a rumble in the second half, Si Howarth profited from an effective rolling maul. A considerably shorter effort than the week before at Ripon.
Thankfully Ref Cadge blew the final whistle on an afternoon to forget for Leo's but a game that despite the conditions was played in the right spirit throughout and everyone retired to the warmth of the showers and the comfort of the club house.
