RFU confirm final league standings for 2019/20 season

After COVID-19 bought the community season to a premature end on following the last rugby action on 14th March 2020 the RFU announced on Friday evening the final standings for Yorkshire 1 2019/20 season.

In the end Leos managed a very credible 10th place finish in their first ever season at Level 7, a great reflection on the work of Head Coach Paul Gabriel and also the strength of the players culture and commitment to each other that has developed over the last 3 seasons.

Please stay safe and well during this unusual time and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Crag Lane as soon as possible.

The RFU statement at the time of the final placings read as below;

Following the early end of the rugby season in England as a result of COVID-19, The Rugby Football Union has announced the final league positions.

Proposals from the RFU governance committee to conclude the season for those leagues at both professional and community level were yesterday ratified by the RFU Council.

It was agreed that final standings for the Greene King IPA Championship and men’s and women’s community game would be calculated on a best playing record formula maintaining promotion and relegation for those leagues.
