Leos held the clubs AGM on Tuesday 6th August with committee positions decided for the coming year and Captains voted in for the coming 2019/20 season.

Chairman Dave Robinson gave an update on finances and while the Club is weathering the costly but necessary storm of changing the way we run things, we need to keep our foot on the fundraising pedal. Players were therefore encouraged to continue to explore all sponsorship avenues for the forthcoming season. There a plenty of sponsorship opportunities available if you wish to get involved please contact Tom Tweddle or Dave Robinson for further details.

Changes in Club Officers sees Nick Burdon taking over as Club President from Alun Gabriel, who is stepping down. Alun has held the Presidency for 5 years and the attendees of the AGM took the opportunity to give Gabes a good hand for the sterling efforts he has put in, keeping the club going through some challenging times and culminating in arguably the clubs finest hour, securing promotion to Yorkshire 1 for the first time. Gabes certainly is not disappearing and will continue as Head Groundsman (the pitches are currently in tremendous nick), programme writer and general “alickadoo”. We wish Nick 'Birdie' all the best in the President’s role. The remaining committee roles remained unchanged with Dave Robinson staying on as Chairman to oversee the ongoing negotiations with the council over a new lease for Crag Lane, Billy Marsh remaining Club Treasurer and Dave Harrison Club Secretary. Tom Tweddle was voted into the vacant Vice Chariman position and Jack Haire stood for election to the committee for the coming year for the first time in his long association with Leos.

In terms of the Playing Committee Ed Farmer was voted to remain as 1st XV Captain for the coming season supported by James Farad as Vice Captain. Billy Marsh will continue as 3rd XV Captain with Adam Ketteringham as Vice Captain. The 2nd XV Captain and Vice Captain roles remain unconfirmed with the main nominees for the roles not present at the AGM to accept or decline their nominations.

Overall the club is in a good place with the first draft of the new lease from the council recently received to be reviewed and returned and hopefully we will be able to get the new agreement in place and signed off by the end of the calendar year.
