We are pleased to confirm that there will be a curtain raiser prior to the 7s kicking off.
This opening match will be rather an informal affair raising money for Bone Cancer Research Trust in memory of Martin McIntosh. Martin passed away after a short fight with cancer, specifically a chest wall sarcoma.
BRCT are one of the very few charities that put the money they raise into researching Sarcoma's but also giving information and support to those affected.
Due to incredible rareness of these types of cancer they do not get the funding or publicity of the better known cancers and sufferers can often be left in the dark when given their diagnosis.
The 2 teams will be made up from old rugby girls from Leo's and the Leeds Universities, so a chance to relive old friendships and rivalries while playing the game that Martin loved best.
We encourage all of those coming on the day to come down early and support all involved but also a very worthy cause.
